I've hosted a few streams on several different computers. Quality seems to be depending on how good your computer is and what programs you're running. I don't recommend running music on iTunes in the back unless you've got a state of the art macintosh right off the line on top of Photoshop. Running a scribble session in MS paint or something isn't so taxing, but my suggestion for music at least is maybe pandora or last.fm in the background since a browser is much less resource heavy than itunes or WMP. On my old PCs, I could barely livestream going through my windows explorer.
Mhm. I don't think I'd stream music, but if I wanted to I'd try Foobar (it is supposed to be light and it's also free). So far my tests have shown that Photoshop gets slower and my computer much hotter when I try to livestream, with nothing else open. Maybe I'll keep the LS for when I use Paint Tool SAI.
I think most computers can handle livestream. What's most likely going ot be a limiting factor is your internet upload speed (test here: [link] ), you are recommended to have at least 700Kbps (see [link]). Be aware that upload speeds are usually a lot slower than your typical download speeds.
As to a strain on your actual computer, I can't really tell you. I've never hosted a stream myself.
My connection is decent, I think. Not the best but not the worst. I've tried LS a bit and it is demanding for the computer, so I guess it might not be the best to stream while using Photoshop with this computer...
Thanks for your input!

Anyway, thanks!
